BCL, LLM (Hons), FCIArb, Dip European Law, Dip E-Comm, Dip Insolvency & Corporate Restructuring. Principal at Lynch Solicitors. Personal Insolvency Practitioner (PIP). Accredited Mediator and Arbitrator.
I was born and have lived in Clonmel all my life except for short trips to university in Dublin and work in Scotland and Sligo.
I qualifited as a solicitor in 1981 and set up practice in Clonmel in 1983.
Over the years, I have developed my keen interest in the law and keep myself interested and enthusiastic by taking on new challenges.
I have completed an honours Master’s Degree in Litigation, hold diplomas in E-Commerce, and EU law , have a certificate in both Advanced Advocacy and am also a qualified trainer in Advocacy.
I am a qualified Arbitrator holding a fellowship from the Royal Institute of Arbitrators and act frequently as both an advocate and an arbitrator.
I am keenly interested in Succession and Estate planning and Tax planning , having developed a special interest in this area over the years. This involves Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney , and various succession agreements : such as: co-ownereship , co-habitation and shareholder agreements.
I am an accredited mediator. Mediation is increasingly popular and dynamic approach to dispute resolution It helps to settle disputes in a fair and equitable manner based on the reasonable judgment and realistic aspirations of both parties in dispute.
One of my pet hobbies is computers and I share King Arthur’s life long ambition of finding the Holy Grail. In my case however it is slightly more attainable – the paperless office!! In 2010 we, at Lynch Solicitors, went as PaperLess as you can go. So our next target is to go DictationLess which involves using Voice Recognition throughout the office.
In my spare time, other than being Chairman of the Clonmel Voluntary Housing Association, I like nothing better than riding my bike – BMW or road bike! And, if you want to tune into Lynch Solicitors legal slot I can often be heard waxing lyrical on Tipp FM on 107 FM every Tuesday morning.
